Jai Jagannath
Bhakta Dasiya Bauri
The only way to unite the devotee and the Lord is to have firm faith in the Lord and to have constant devotion. In the beautiful voice of the devotee Bhikari Bal, ” Dasiya Nadia Sina Tote Badhiya , Hale To Abadha Anna Mote Badhiya”, it means Lord Jagannath loved very much dasiya’s offered coconut same exactly devotee bhikari bal loved very much Lord Jagannath’s mahaprasadm, this song speaks of the unwavering devotion of the devotee Dasiya Bauri. The Lord Himself appears to the devotee only in the devotion of the devotee. A shining example of this is the devotional title Dasiya Bauri of Baligram vilage.
Four miles from Puri, there is a village named Baligram. Dasiya was born into a low caste. In the eyes of society, he was untouchable, despised and lowly. Dasiya lost his parents as a child. Since childhood, he had a strong faith in Shri Jagannath. After entering his youth, Dasiya found a very pious and devoted wife. They both earn their living by making and selling cloth every day. The devotee Dasiya remembers Aharah Mahaprabhu. While sleeping and waking up, Shri Jagannath is always in his heart.
At that time, the entry of low caste people into the temple was prohibited. The servant dasiya was deeply saddened because he could not go to the temple. The servant dasiya always said to Mahaprabhu, I am your Most unworthy child, I am a fallen person, O Mahaprabhu! Remove all my sins and save me from this world by showing me your darshan. If you show me darshan, O Mahaprabhu, I will have a glimpse of your body, adorned with the three worlds, on the jewel throne.
One day, Dasiya’s wife cooked black vegetables leaf with white rice khiri. While eating, some vegetables leaf fell into the white rice bowl, resembling the eyes of Sri Jagannath, and Dasiya saw the face of Sri Jagannath Mahaprabhu in the bowl. As a result, a great sense of devotion was awakened in Dasiya’s heart. In devotion, Dasiya started chanting the name of Sri Jagannath very loudly around the bowl. People around started gathering at Dasiya’s house. Some people considered Dasiya’s such devotional behavior to be crazy. Some said that he was possessed by a ghost. But Dasiya, instead of eating the vegetables with white rice, started dancing and performing devotional dances. A saint was passing by that way. Seeing a crowd near Dasiya’s house, he immediately stopped there. The saint understood everything and removed the bowl from the bowl. Now Dasiya ate it. This is a shining example of Dasiya’s strong faith in God. This is a testament to his devotional prowess.
Even at night, the maidservant would get up from her bed and pray to the Lord – “Lord! Will you not have mercy on me? Will my eyes not see you?” In fact, only the Lord Himself understands the feelings of a devotee’s heart. When the heart of a devotee is filled with love and devotion, at that time the Lord, who is receptive to his devotion, appears to him. Shri Jagannath gave the darshan to Dasiya . Dasiya was overcome with after seeing the form of Lord Mahaprabhu.
